This issue isn’t just local—it’s global. Across the Caribbean, up to 50% of all food produced is lost before it ever reaches a plate. That’s where we come in.
At HSD, we believe we can make a real difference. That’s why we’re leading the charge with the HSD Eco-Agro Park, an initiative designed to fight food waste and hunger—not just in the Dominican Republic, but across the Caribbean.
Cold Storage for the entire Food Industry
One of the biggest challenges facing farmers is the lack of infrastructure to store fresh produce. Spoilage happens fast, and without proper storage, so much good food gets lost. Our park will include 350,000 square feet of cold storage space, giving agro-professionals the ability to store their harvests longer, reduce waste, and increase the value of their crops.
Imagine the impact: Less spoilage means more food stays fresh and ready to be sold or redistributed, creating more stability and security for agro-professionals and their families.

But we’re going even further. The HSD Eco-Agro Park will act as a food collection hub for produce that doesn’t get sold. Instead of letting that food go to waste, we’ll collect it and redistribute it to people who need it most. By doing this, we’re not just reducing waste; we’re helping to feed communities that are struggling with hunger. It’s a smart, sustainable system that ensures good food never goes to waste.
